Dan Bongino, a former U.S. Secret Service agent from 1999 through 2011, stated on his podcast that the “Biggest Scandal in American history is currently unfolding.” No, Dan isn’t talking about the fantasy involving President Trump and ‘Russian espionage’ that supposedly decided the 2016 election. Rather, Dan is talking about the flagrant abuses of power by former President Obama while he was in office.
Here’s a quick rundown in case your out of the loop:
As president, Obama personally oversaw weaponizing the NSA, CIA, FBI, DHS, Treasury and DOJ Nat Sec Division (among others like the consumer protection board, EPA, etc) and allowed them unfettered, unaccountable, unrestricted access to spy on and disseminate personal conversations collected by the NSA’s 702 provisions. He abused his office to allow this to happen by implementing unconstitutional EO’s that allowed the raw, unredacted surveillance data collected by NSA to be spread through out every agency, unaccountably.
This type of mass surveillance began under Bush and was more structured when it was done under Section 215. However, once in office Obama re-wrote it to be included in the FISA amendments act under Section 702 giving it broader collection powers, this was enacted and enabled strictly under the Obama administration in 2009 and continued all the way up through the 2016 presidential election. There is no blaming Bush for Section 702 abuse. It’s all on Obama and his administration, as cited by the FISA court themselves, who issued this memo order, which resulted in NSA and US CyberCom Director Admiral Rogers to suspend the upstream data collection portion of Section 702’s mandate.
Remember this tweet from President Trump last year?
Trump knew he was being spied on by the Obama administration as far back as the 2016 transition period thanks to Admiral Rogers. He may have even known before then. In any case, almost a year later it seems that we are finally making some progress… or maybe Trump’s administration has got their ducks in a row and is now ready to come out swinging. Who knows as of right now. But, I am sure that many of the 65 million Americans that voted Trump into office are not happy with the Obama administrations many constitutional violations and would like to see some justice, I know I would.
