Special Counsel Robert Mueller on Friday has indicted 12 Russian intelligence officers for hacking the 2016 election.
The Russians also hacked state board of elections and state government computers.
Information from the hacks was provided to unidentified Americans, who did not know they were communicating with Russians, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein said.
