The hidden side of politics

This Target Bench Transformed My Bedroom Into a Relaxing Haven

Reported by POPSUGAR:

I’ll be honest: I find interior design so difficult. (That’s one of *many* reasons why I’m a writer and not a home-design expert.) Not only is it complicated to figure out what to put where, but it also gets costly when you add a bunch of pieces to your cart. For that reason, I’ve been putting together my new apartment slowly but surely. My game plan has been to focus on one room at a time and add furniture and decor as I come across pieces I like instead of investing in it all at once. First up? My bedroom. I purchased a bed frame, mattress, dresser, and side tables, and then came the struggle: I knew I wanted a bench at the end of my bed, but I couldn’t find one that spoke to me until I came across the Hearth & Hand With Magnolia Upholstered Natural Wood Accent Bench ($200) at Target, which conveniently matched my bed frame perfectly — and looked really cozy. Ahead, I break down everything you need to know about it in case it’s exactly what you’re looking for, too.

What I Like About This Accent Bench

This accent bench is one of my favorite purchases of the year. I was looking for a wood and linen design that was chic yet comfortable, and a lot of the designs I came across didn’t evoke a cozy feel. I had a good feeling about this one even before I tried it IRL because it boasts a thick padded seat that I figured could double as a resting spot for my dog, Cooper. Spoiler alert: he loves it, and so do I.

The natural wood matches perfectly with my bed frame and the floating shelves (which are my most recent addition). I think the straps are a lovely addition, as is the tapered shape of the wooden frame.

Another thing I like about it is that I know I’ll be able to find a use for it, no matter if I end up in another apartment or a house in the future. The neutral palette lends itself to any decor style and palette, so it’s basically guaranteed that it’ll have a spot in a future guest room, entryway, you name it.

What’s Worth Noting About This Accent Bench

One thing worth noting is that a few shoppers found the accent bench to be smaller than expected. For that reason, I recommend making a note of the exact dimensions and using a measuring tape to get a feel for what that size may look like in your space. For context, I placed the bench at the foot of my queen-size bed and love the look of it.

Who This Accent Bench Is Best For

This accent bench is best for someone looking for a chic yet versatile piece of decor to round out their bedroom or entryway. I think it’s most ideal for those who love neutral hues and are looking for something to amp up their space’s coziness.
