Phoebe Waller-Bridge Is Polishing the Script for the New James Bond Movie

The coolest news you’ll read today? Fleabag creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge is being brought on to punch up the writing for the next James Bond movie. Waller-Bridge, who recently proved her spy-vs.-spy chops with Killing Eve, is being asked to “polish” the script, which is the 26th in the franchise. Bond himself, Daniel Craig, reportedly requested Waller-Bridge be brought on for the rewrite.

Lots of Writers Are Firing Their Agents

For those who haven’t been following the news, a primer: The Writers Guild of America, the union of many Hollywood scribes, and the Association of Talent Agencies, the trade association of their agents, have been embroiled in a dustup over a new Code of Conduct the WGA is proposing that will regulate how talent agencies conduct themselves when it comes to their clients. (Read more here.) Over the weekend, both sides remained steadfast as the WGA told its writers to fire their agents until the code was adopted. Many writers did, including Stephen King, David Simon, and Damon Lindelof. As of this writing, no resolution was in sight.
